What we collect

We collect information in two ways: what you give us directly, and what we observe when you use the platform.

Information you provide

• Account information — your email address and username when you sign up.
• Profile information — display name, bio, avatar, and any other details you choose to add.
• Review content — the reviews and ratings you publish on the platform.

Information we observe

• Usage data — pages visited, reviews read, and actions taken on the platform.
• Device and browser information — basic technical details like browser type and operating system.
• IP address — used for security, spam detection, and rough geographic context (country-level only).

How we use it

• To run the platform — displaying your reviews, managing your account, and enabling features.
• To improve the experience — understanding how the platform is used and where it can be better.
• To detect and remove spam, abuse, and coordinated manipulation.
• To communicate with you — account-related emails (verification, security notices). We don't send marketing email without your explicit consent.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We don't trade it for ad revenue. The only third parties who see your data are infrastructure providers that help us run the platform:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your account data and reviews are stored here.
• Vercel — our hosting platform. Handles web requests and performance.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of users or the platform.

Session storage

We use browser localStorage to keep you logged in between visits. We don't use third-party advertising cookies. If you use a browser extension that blocks tracking, it shouldn't meaningfully break the platform.

Your rights

You have control over your data:

• Edit your profile at any time from your account settings.
• Delete individual reviews from your review history.
• Delete your account entirely from account settings — this removes your personal data and anonymizes your reviews.
• Request a copy of your data by emailing hello@gritiq.com.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, personal information is removed within 30 days. Anonymized review content stays on the platform — it's part of the historical record and doesn't identify you.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you via email or a notice on the platform. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
