AI on Gritiq: what it does, what it doesn't
We use AI to cut through noise — not to replace the humans making the signal. Here's where it shows up and what it's doing.
Our approach
The web is full of platforms that use AI to generate content, write fake reviews, or bury anything that doesn't fit an algorithm's goal. We use it differently.
Every review on Gritiq is written by a real person. AI plays a supporting role — helping surface what's useful, catching what's not, and summarizing what the community thinks. It never puts words in your mouth or pretends to be a gamer.
Where AI is used
Quality analysis at submission
When you submit a review, AI assesses it for depth, specificity, and signs of spam or low effort. This analysis influences how your review is initially surfaced. It does not change what you wrote — it helps determine where it appears.
Community takeaway
Each game page includes a short summary of what the community thinks overall. This is AI-generated from the existing reviews and is clearly labeled as such. It's a synthesis, not an opinion — and it updates as new reviews come in.
Spam and abuse detection
AI helps us catch coordinated campaigns, fake accounts, and low-effort spam before they pollute the platform. Flagged content goes to human moderation — AI doesn't make final calls on account actions.
What AI never does
Rewrites or edits your review. What you write is what gets published. AI never modifies review text.
Creates reviews. All reviews are written by humans. AI-generated review text is not allowed and is actively detected.
Hides reviews based on sentiment. Negative reviews aren't suppressed. If a review is low quality, it's because of how it was written — not what it said.
Makes final moderation decisions. AI flags content for review. Humans decide what gets removed.
Transparency is the point
When you see a community takeaway on a game page, it's clearly labeled as AI-generated. We don't believe in hiding the seams. If you're reading something that a person wrote, it should be obvious. If you're reading something AI synthesized, that should be obvious too.
